Tao Te Ching,a treasure of Chinese culture,has a profound impact on traditional philosophy,science,politics,etc.This article conducts a study on the English translation of antithetical sentences in Tao Te Ching from a cross-cultural perspective and selects The Wisdom of Laotse by Lin Yutang as the translation version.Tao Te Ching is rich in cultural connotations and contains rhetorical devices such as metaphor and antithesis.This article selects the antithetical sentences in it for a comparative analysis to explain the cultural deposits they contain.
