目的论视角下林语堂《浮生六记》英译本成语翻译研究

Study on the Translation of Idioms in Lin Yutang's Six Chapters of A Floating Life from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

成语是一种长期沿用的固定短语,其结构紧密、意思精辟,是中华传统文化的一大特色。因此,成语翻译不仅是语言的转换,更是文化的交流。《浮生六记》是清代沈复所著的自传体散文,文学价值较高,文中使用了大量成语,这给翻译工作带来了挑战。林语堂的英译本《浮生六记》译笔圆融,深受西方读者欢迎,这与翻译目的论有共通之处。文章旨在从目的论的阐释出发,结合新时代背景下文学翻译目的,通过对《浮生六记》英译本的成语翻译策略进行深入分析,旨在探讨如何在忠实于原文的同时满足目标语言文化需求,以促进更广泛的文化交流与认同。

Chinese idioms are long-established fixed phrases with tight structure and clear meaning.They are a special feature of Chinese traditional culture.Therefore,idioms translation is not only a language conversion,but also a cultural exchange.Fu Sheng Liu Ji is an autobiographical prose written by Shen Fu in the Qing Dynasty.It has a high value in literary appreciation,including the use of many idioms,which has brought great challenges to translation.While Six Chapters of A Floating Life,the English version translated by Lin Yutang,has been well-received by western readers which reflects the similarity with skopos theory.Based on the interpretation of skopos theory and the purpose of literary translation in the new era,this paper is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the idiom translation strategies used in Six Chapters of A Floating Life.It seeks to examine how to balance fidelity to the original text with the needs of the target language culture,thereby facilitating broader cultural exchange and understanding.
