A Comparative Study of Chinese and English Cultures——Taking Phatic Communication as an Example

在日常交流中,寒暄是一种有效交流的特殊形式,是在特定语境中产生的。在语言交流过程中,寒暄可能会产生几种不同的效果。不同的问候或其他寒暄话语所产生的语境是不同的。目前,关于寒暄交际的研究已经从最初的界定发展到对其文化内涵的研究,再到对实际语用研究的研究,并在整体上沿着认知领域的方向发展。文章基于中英寒暄语的使用差异,深入探讨不同文化背景下寒暄语的应用和文化内涵。

In daily communication,phatic communication is a special form of effective communication,which is produced in a specific context.In the process of language communication,there may be several different effects caused by phatic communication.The contexts brought by different greetings or other phatic utterance are also different.At present,the research on phatic communication has developed from the initial definition to the study of its cultural connotation,to the study of actual pragmatic research,and has developed along the direction of cognitive field.Based on the differences in the use of phatic communion between Chinese and English,this paper explores the application and cultural connotation of phatic communion in different cultural backgrounds.
