论“语言误用”的译与不译——以《献给阿尔吉侬的花束》汉译为例

The Translation of“Misuse of Language”in Flowers for Algernon

“语言误用”指作者为推动剧情和构建人物而对部分原文语言的特意改写。在语言差异下,译者对“语言误用”的译与不译关乎内容与情感的传递。文章通过梳理《献给阿尔吉侬的花束》中原文“语言误用”的表达方式与译者对其的翻译处理,探讨译文在逻辑建构与人物塑造上的缺失,为“语言误用”的翻译提供新视角。

The term“misuse of language”refers to the author's deliberate rewriting of part of the original language to serve the plot and characters.Given the difference between the source and target languages,its translation is related to the faithful transmission of content and emotion.In this paper,the author analyses the various techniques of“misuse of language”in both the source and target texts of Flowers for Algernon,and provides a new perspective on the translation of it through the discussion of the absence of logical construction and characterization in the translation.
