译者主体性视角下《道德经》三个英译本比较研究

A Comparative Analysis of Three English Versions of Tao Te Ching from the Perspective of Translator's Subjectivity

《道德经》是中国传统文化经典之作,英译历经一百五十余载。文章选取《道德经》作为研究对象,从译者主体性视角对理雅各、韦利及林语堂三个英译本进行比较,发现译者受自身主体性影响比较大,主要体现在原作理解、选择翻译策略和翻译风格三方面。文章通过分析译者的主体性在译本中的体现,以期译者在翻译过程中提高对译者主体性的重视,呈现更好的译作。

Tao Te Ching,a classic of Chinese traditional culture,has been translated into English for over 150 years.This paper compares the three versions of Lin Yutang,James Legge and Arthur Waley,from the perspective of translator's subjectivity.The analysis reveals that translators are significantly influenced by their own subjectivity,leading to variations in their understanding of the original text,choice of translation strategies,and translation language style.By examining how translator's subjectivity is manifested in the translation,this paper aims to encourage translators to be more mindful of their subjectivity during the translating to produce higher quality translation.
