口腔学英语词汇特征及翻译策略

Vocabulary Characteristics and Translation Strategies of Stomatology English

目前全球超35亿人患口腔疾病,全球口腔疾病的发病率呈上升趋势。我国口腔医学自改革开放以来取得了前所未有的发展,但与发达国家相比仍存在很大差距,为提升我国口腔医学水平,需国内外学者合作与交流。因此,对口腔学英语词汇特征及翻译策略研究很有必要。文章将词汇分为纯专业和半专业词汇,涉及合成词、派生词和缩略词,探究出直译法、零翻译法、网络检索法、参照图片验证法及目的语回译法、语境识别法及专业语料库检索法,以期为口腔学英语翻译提供参考。

At present,more than 3.5 billion people worldwide are suffering from oral diseases,the incidence rate of oral diseases worldwide is on the rise.Since the reform and opening up,oral medicine in China has achieved unprecedented development,but there is still a significant gap compared to developed countries.In order to improve the level of oral medicine in China,close cooperation and exchange between domestic and foreign researchers are needed.Therefore,it is necessary to study the characteristics of English words and translation strategies in stomatology.This article has found that stomatology English vocabulary can be divided into pure professional vocabulary and semi-professional vocabulary,containing a large number of compound words,derivative words,and abbreviations.Moreover,this article has explored translation strategies such as literal translation,zero translation,searching method,validation method according to pictures,back translation of target language,context recognition method and domain-specific corpus searching method,which are expected to provide references for the learning and translation of stomatology English.
