摘要
文章以纽马克的翻译理论为基础,从语义翻译和交际翻译视角出发,以许渊冲英译王维唐诗三首《辋川闲居赠裴秀才迪》《郑果州相过》《终南别业》为研究对象,分析了诗歌中意象和意境的翻译策略。初步发现,作为山水田园诗派代表,王维的诗歌意象以自然意象见长,且为纯粹意象;且其诗歌多为白描手法,直抒胸臆。为实现诗歌传情达意的目标,译文注重保留诗中自然意象,结合使用语义翻译和交际翻译。
Based on Newmark’s translation theory and from the perspectives of semantic and communicative translation,this paper studied Xu Yuanchong’s English version of Wang Wei’s three poems,For My Outspoken Friend Pei Di in My Hermitage,On Governor Zheng’s Visit and My Hermitage in Southern Mountain,by analyzing the translation strategies of imagery and aesthetic conception in the poems.Initially,it is found that Wang Wei’s poetic imagery is characterized by natural imagery and pure imagery as a representative of the landscape and idyllic poetry school;moreover,his poems are mostly plain drawing and straightforward expressions.In order to achieve the goal of conveying emotion and meaning in his poetry,the translation focuses on preserving the natural imagery in the poems and uses a combination of semantic and communicative translation.
