认知体验视角下介词at多义研究

认知语言学认为语言中的词语所表达的意义及其用法取决于人们对周围真实世界的感知和范畴化。因此,一词多义现象与人们对客观世界的体验和经验感知是分不开的。文章基于语言的认知体验观,详细分析了介词at多个义项的认知体验基础,以探究其多义性形成的认知机制和语义关联。研究发现介词at多个义项之间共享“某一点”这一核心意义,“空间点”是其基本义,从基本义辐射出其他延伸义。了解这些义项之间的联系,有助于学习者的词汇学习,同时为认知词典编纂提供一定的例证参考。

Cognitive Linguistics holds that the meanings of words in languages depend on people’s perception and categorization of the world.Therefore,the formation of polysemy is inseparable from people’s bodily cognition in the real world.This paper probes into the multiple senses of the preposition at from the perspective of embodied cognition in order to explore the semantic relevance of its polysemy.The research results show that its multiple senses share the meaning of“a certain point”,and the“spatial point”is its basic meaning,from which other extended meanings are radiated.This study will be helpful for English learners to acquire the meanings of at,and provides reference for the compilation of Cognitive Lexicography.
