典籍翻译中的“前景化”特征研究——以亚瑟·韦利的《猴》为例

"前景化"概念从语言学领域进入翻译领域,实现了语内向语际的突破。《西游记》是中国古代四大名著之一,目前有多个译本,其中由亚瑟·韦利翻译的《猴》更是深受读者喜爱。文章通过研读《西游记》中英读本,试图探讨亚瑟·韦利翻译《猴》出现的等值前景化翻译、动态前景化翻译和去前景化翻译三类特征。

The fact that“foregrounding”has been borrowed from the linguistics to translation achieves a breakthrough in interlingual research.The Journey to the West is one of the ancient Four Great Classical Novels in China,and there are many translated versions at present,among which Monkey translated by Arthur Waley is deeply loved by readers.By studying the original book and Monkey by Arthur Waley,this paper attempts to explore three characteristics of translation in Monkey,including equivalent foregrounding,dynamic foregrounding and de-foregrounding.
