对《傲慢与偏见》两个译文的质量评估

《傲慢与偏见》是英国著名女作家简·奥斯汀的经典作品之一。该作品主要以乡绅家庭女性的婚姻现状和生活状态作为其作品中主要呈现的内容,生动地反映了18世纪末19世纪初的英国乡村生活和世态人情。简·奥斯汀语言风趣活泼、细节描写非常传神,体现了女性独有的细腻和观察角度,将作者的周围环境和生活状态做了真实的描述。《傲慢与偏见》在国内有多个版本,文章选取了比较有代表性的两个译作——孙致礼1990年版和李明2006年版,运用系统功能语言学理论,从多个角度对译文质量进行评估,试图找出更加贴近奥斯汀写作风格的翻译。

Pride and Prejudice is one of the representative works of the famous British female writer Jane Austen.Marriage status and living conditions of women in squire family are the main content presented in the work,which vividly reflects the life in English villages and towns at the end of the 18 th century and the beginning of the 19 th century.The language in Jane Austen’s work is witty and lively,with detailed and vivid description and it reflects the unique delicacy and observation of women,and gives a genuine description of the author’s surrounding environment and living conditions.Pride and Prejudice has multiple editions in China.This paper selects two representative translations;one from Sun Zhili(1990 edition),and the other one from Li Ming(2006 edition),as a contrastive research.Relying on systematic functional linguistics,quality assessment of the translation will be conducted from different aspects,so as to find a translation that is closer to Austin’s original writing style.
