论翻译的共性标准——忠实和通顺

各行各业都有自己的标准,翻译工作也不例外,要围绕着一个确切的翻译标准来开展工作,这个标准是整个翻译工作的方向所在,为翻译提供指导,也是翻译的原则和要求,是翻译活动必须遵守的准绳,它衡量着译文质量的好坏,更是每一位翻译工作者力求达到的目标。但是,目前为止,翻译的标准各式各样、各具特色,并没有形成一个统一的标准,纵观这些标准,却有着一个共性——译文都在努力做到忠实和通顺。文章对这一共性标准进行讨论,力求在今后翻译过程中熟练运用这一标准,提高译文质量。

Each walk of life has its own standard,the translation work also certainly has.Based on an exact translation standard,this standard is the direction of the translation work,providing guidance for translation,and regarded as translation principles and requirements,as well as the criterion of translation activities to abide by.However,so far,there are various characteristics of translation standards,yet,there have not formed a unified standard.Among all these standards,there is one common feature—faithful and smooth.This paper discusses this common standard and tries to apply it proficiently in the future translation process to improve the quality of translation.
