衔接机制在英语专业学生冲突类商务信函中的使用探析

摘要 文章基于自建语料库,运用中介语对比分析法、错误分析法和SPSS统计分析,探讨分析了衔接机制在英语专业学生冲突类商务信函中的使用情况。研究结果显示,按照使用频率由高到低的顺序,从衔接机制的功能分类来看,依次为词汇衔接、连接、指称、省略、替代;从衔接机制的距离来看,依次为直接衔接、远距离衔接、中介、中介-远距离衔接。与英语本族语者相比,英语专业学生普遍存在多用、误用及少用现象。与低分组学生相比,高分组学生使用较多的词汇衔接、远距离衔接及中介-远距离衔接。在写作质量上,信函的测试分数与概括词和远距离衔接呈正相关,中介距离衔接呈负相关,而且这三类衔接机制均可作为冲突类商务信函写作质量的预测变量。基于研究结果,文章最后对英语写作教学提出了一定的建议。 Based on the self-complied corpora,this study examines English majors’use of cohesive devices in conflictive business letters by employing Contrastive Interlanguage Analysis,error analysis and SPSS statistical analysis.It reveals that,in terms of frequency from high to low,and from the perspective of cohesive device function,lexical cohesion comes first,followed by conjunction and reference,substitution and ellipsis.In terms of distance,immediate cohesion enjoys the largest proportion,followed by remote and mediated-remote,and mediated(3.61%)is the least used one.Compared with native speakers,English majors tend to overuse,underuse and misuse some cohesive devices.The high-rated group uses more lexical cohesion,mediated-remote and remote devices than the low-rated one.As to the writing quality,the test scores correlate positively with general words and remote devices,but negatively with mediated-remote ones,and these three sorts can serve as predictors to the writing quality.In the end,the paper presents some implications for the teaching of English writing.
