ESP理论下的高职汽车专业《汽车专业英语》课程教学探究

专门用途英语ESP(English for Specific Purposes)来源于动能语言学的语言理论,形成于20世纪60年代,是指某种特定学科与职业的相关联的英语,是根据学习者的特定目标和特殊需要而开设的英语课程。高职汽车英语作为一种ESP,结合基础英语与汽车专业两种教学,因此,无论是国内还是国外的英语教学领域,它都具有广阔的发展空间。文章以ESP理论作为支撑,探索在ESP理论下,提高高职汽车专业《汽车英语》课程教学质量的具体措施。

ESP(English for Specific Purposes),derived from the language theory of kinetic linguistics,was formed in the 1960 s.It refers to the English related to a Specific subject and occupation.It is an English course which sets up according to the specific goals and special needs of learners.Automobile English,as a kind of ESP,is a combination of basic and specialized English teaching,which has a broad space for development in both domestic and international English teaching fields.With the support of ESP theory,this paper explores specific measures to improve the teaching quality of Automobile English in higher vocational automobile major.
