交际翻译理论视角下英语科技文本长句的翻译技巧分析

文章所选翻译原文节选自《简明科学史手册》第19章,主要讲述商业科学的发展史,文本中大量应用长句,且长句结构复杂,层次较多,在翻译过程中具有一定难度。文章以纽马克交际翻译理论为指导,在翻译实践的基础上,对长句的翻译技巧进行了研究及总结,力求译文对目标读者所产生的效果尽可能贴近原文对源语读者产生的效果。

The original text selected for this paper is excerpted from Chapter 19 of A Companion to the History of Science,which tells the history of the development of commercial science. The text contains a large number of long sentences,and the structure of long sentences is complex with different layers of meanings,which is difficult to translate. This paper studies and summarizes the translation techniques of long sentences based on Newmark’s communicative translation theory and translation practice,striving to make the effect of the translation on the target readers as close as possible to the effect of the original text on the source language readers.
