摘要
概念数效应是指主语的概念数特征对主谓一致加工的干扰。本文试图采用ERP手段来考察理解范式下中国高水平英语学习者在加工主谓一致时是否存在概念数效应。实验发现,中国高水平英语学习者和英语母语者就概念数效应表现出了不一样的脑电模式:就英语母语者,单数概念条件下的语法违反句相较于语法正确句引发了N400和P600的双阶段加工模式,复数概念条件下的语法违反句相较于语法正确句引发了P600效应;就中国高水平英语学习者,无论在单数概念条件还是复数概念条件下,语法违反句相较于语法正确句均仅引发了P600效应。以上实验结果表明中国高水平英语学习者无法像英语母语者那样表现出对概念数效应的敏感性。其次,本文从基于线索的记忆检索模型入手讨论了二语学习者概念数效应缺失的可能原因;最后,本文还尝试讨论了理解范式与产出范式下二语学习者概念数效应缺失的可能差异。
Notional number effects refer to the interferences of subjects notional number features in subject-verb agreement processing.Using event-related potentials,the present study investigated whether notational number effects can be observed in advanced Chinese learners of English based on the paradigm of comprehension.Our results revealed that advanced EFL leaners showed distinct ERP patterns from English native speakers:for English native group,ungrammatical sentences in the singular notional condition triggered a biphasic N400-P600 effect relative to their grammatical counterparts,while ungrammatical sentences in the plural notional condition only elicited a P600 effect;However,for advanced EFL learner group,ungrammatical sentences in both singular and plural notional conditions triggered P600 effects.The results indicated that advanced EFL learners were not as sensitive to notional number effects as native speakers.For discussion,the present paper put forward possible reasons for the absence of L2 notional number effects from the perspective of the cue-based memory retrieval model.We at last tentatively discussed the different L2 notional number effects based on the paradigm of comprehension and production.
