改隶之悲:乙未割台后台籍士子的选择(1895—1897)

The Sorrow of Conversion:The Choices of Local Scholar-Officials after the Cession of Taiwan (1895-1897)

身处甲午、乙未这个大变动而多难的年代,台籍士子有的不屈不挠、坚决抵抗,有的则成为奸细;日据中国台湾后,有的故土难离,有的选择内渡。在内渡的士子中,有的选择永久居留中国内地,有的则因家业和生计而选择回台入日本籍。未内渡及内渡后又返台的士子,在日据中国台湾初期,有的遁世归隐、潜踪匿迹,有的不问世事、纵情诗酒,有的则主动或被动地与日本殖民政权合作,出任殖民政府官职或接受其授予的种种荣誉。不同的选择,反映了个人的不同境遇和价值取向。

During 1894 and 1895 when the first Sino-Japanese War broke out,some scholar-officials in Taiwan were resolute in resisting the Japanese,while some others chose to become spies.After Japan occupied Taiwan,some of them kept staying in Taiwan region,and some went to the Chinese mainland.Among those who went to the Chinese mainland,some of them chose to stay permanently on the mainland,while others returned to Taiwan region to be Japanese citizens for their lives and belongings.Among those who stayed in Taiwan region and those who later returned to the Taiwan region from the Chinese mainland,some hid in seclusion;some of them did not cared about the world and indulged in poetry and wine;and some of them actively or passively cooperated with the Japanese colonial regime,taking up official positions or accepting various honors conferred by the Japanese colonial government.The different choices reflected the different situations and values of individuals.
