In the second half of 2023,the Buddhist Associa tion of China(BAC)organized a series of landmark events.Firstly,on October 25,a symposium commemorating the 70th anniversary of the BAC's establishment was held in Beijing.Before the symposium,Wang Huning(王沪宁),member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China(CPC)Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC),met with the leadership of the BAC and took a group photo with the representatives attending the symposium.Chen Ruifeng(陈瑞峰),Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the National Religious Affairs Administration,attended the symposium and delivered a speech.Venerable Yanjue(演觉),President of the BAC,attended and addressed the symposium.Secondly,from November 6 to 7,the 23rd China-ROK-Japan Buddhist Friendship Exchange Conference was held in Seoul,the Republic of Korea(ROK).President Yanjue of the BAC headed a Chinese Buddhist delegation to attend the conference.Over 280 delegates from China,the ROK,and Japan gathered in Seoul and enjoyed a thorough discussion on the Dharma friendship and future prospects,engaging in in-depth discussions and extensive exchanges centered on the theme of"The Role of Buddhists inthe Coexistence of Human Society".
