This paper introduces the concept of national reading and analyses the background and development of national reading activities.According to the analysis of the current situation of national reading promotion in Tianjin,it points out that three measures should be taken to deepen the construction of literary Tianjin:strengthening policies,laws and regulations guarantee,highlighting the role of public libraries,as well as building the reading brand.
