A Study of the Influence of the Ethnic Factor on American Foreign Policy

美国作为一个移民国家,历史上移民的同化方式由原来的彻底融入美国逐步转变为重新肯定自己少数族裔的身份认同,而移民对美国外交政策的影响也伴随这一过程逐步显现。从总体上看,族裔对美国外交政策的影响能力也受制于族裔自身和外部两方面的多重因素,而不同族裔对美国外交政策的影响有着各自不同的表现形式。研究发现,族裔对美国外交政策的影响是一个发展的和不断变化的过程,不能用静止的眼光看待这一问题。

As a country made up of immigrants,the assimilation of the immigrants in the United States has changed gradually from the original complete integration of them into American mainstream society to the recognition of their identities as ethnic minorities.Along with such a process,the influence of the immigrants on American foreign policy has gradually emerged.On the whole,the influence of the ethnic groups on American foreign policy is determined by multiple factors involving the ethnic groups themselves and their external conditions,while different ethnic groups may have different influences,both in form and in content,on American foreign policy.The study has found out that the influence of the ethnic groups on American foreign policy is in a developing and changing process,which cannot be viewed from a static point of view.
