A briefing on archaeological excavations at Wutulan Cemetery in Nilka County in 2021

2021年8月,新疆文物考古研究所对尼勒克县乌吐兰墓地中部3座濒临破坏的墓葬进行了抢救性考古发掘。发掘的墓葬形制有带斜坡墓道的竖穴土坑墓和竖穴石棺骨灰罐火葬墓,此次发现的竖穴石棺骨灰罐火葬墓在伊犁地区都尚属首次发现,这为研究青铜时代东西方文化交流提供了新的线索,也为我们构建伊犁地区的史前考古学文化序列提供了研究基础和新的视野。

In August,2021,Xinjiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology carried out a rescue archaeological excavation of three tombs in the middle of Wutulan Cemetery in Nilka County.The excavated tombs are vertical tomb with sloping path and sarcophagus cremation one with urn.which is the first time to be discovered in Yili area and provides a new clue for us to study the cultural exchange between the East and the West in the Bronze Age,and which also provides a research foundation and a new vision for us to reconstruct the prehistoric archaeological cultural sequence in Yili area.
