Normal Gestation After Bromocriptine Treatment of Pituitary Prolactin Secretory Tumor: Report of 3 Cases

垂体催乳素分泌瘤(Prolactinoma)分泌过多的催乳素(PRL),可引起闭经—溢乳(女性)、阳萎(男性)等性功能低下症状。

As diagnostic techniques advances, more and more prolactinomas were discovered clinically. Three women with this tumor were admitted in our hospital with chief complaint of amenorrhea, lactorrhea and infertility for several years. X-ray films and CT scanning revealed intrasellar tumors. Laboratory findings revealed high serum PRL concentration, normal GH, slight depressed FSH and LH, normal urine Gn, markedly decreased Eand abnormal TRH provocative test. They were treated with bromocriptin which has inhibiting effect on prolactin secretion and reducing the size of the tumor.The dose of bromocriptin used ranging from 2.5 to 5mg daily with satisfactory results: menstruation recurred, lactorrhea disappeared and all of the 3 treated patients were pregnant. Them delivered normal babies in good condition. Follow-up observation for two to 10 months after delivery revealed both the mothers and the babies are in good condition.
