The Decade-based Commemoration of the May Fourth Movement Since the Reform and Opening-up:A Study of Selected Articles from Academic Conferences

改革开放以来,五四运动秩年纪念已达五次,每次皆有学术会议召开,其中中国社会科学院、北京大学分别主办的学术会议,学术性浓、档次性高、权威性强。透视会议论文作者群体,可以发现其中学术传承代际积累、学科专业交流互鉴、跨地区跨国界互动沟通等特征。梳理研讨会选文及其文集的学术脉络,可以发现它们既与时俱进回应时代课题,又实事求是总结历史经验;既聚焦五四文化精英,又重视五四爱国青年,还关注五四亲历者;既就专制与民主、蒙昧与科学、新旧道德、中西古今等话题展开争鸣,还关注五四时期文学、教育、音乐等学科发展,并进行五四追忆诠释、检视反思,映射出五四运动研究话语日新日进、深化日趋多元、学术范式区界拓展、研究方法交叉融合等趋势。学术会议研讨是学术研究的重要载体,也是助推五四运动研究繁荣发展的重要渠道。

Since the reform and opening up,the decade-based commemoration of the May Fourth Movement has been held five times,and academic conferences have been organized on each commemoration.Among all events,the academic conferences hosted respectively by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Peking University are highly academic,high-level and authoritative.A review of the authors submitting papers to the conferences can reveal features such as intergenerational accumulation of academic heritage,interdisciplinary and professional exchanges,as well as cross-region and cross-border interactions and communications.Through teasing out the academic lineages of the selected papers and the anthologies,it can be found that the conferences not only respond to the issues of the times,but also summarize historical experiences in a pragmatic manner.They focus on the cultural elites in the May Fourth Movement,the patriotic youth of the May Fourth Movement,and also those who experienced the May Fourth Movement.The attendees debate on topics such as autocracy and democracy,obscurantism and science,old and new morality,East and West,ancient and modern times,pay attention to the development of literature,education,music and other disciplines during the May Fourth Movement,and conduct memorials,interpretations and reflections on the May Fourth Movement,which shows the trend that the research discourse of the May Fourth Movement is rejuvenated with each passing day,and becomes more in-depth and diverse with expanded academic paradigms and integrated research methods.The academic conference is a crucial carrier of academic research and an important channel for promoting the prosperity of research on the May Fourth Movement.
