摘要
陈哲艺是当下新加坡最具代表性的青年导演,他的作品将新加坡电影带上世界舞台。陈哲艺的影像创作延续了新加坡华语电影的家庭题材与文化认同议题,他的两部电影《爸妈不在家》《热带雨》,是全球化、现代化、后殖民共同作用下的文化混合体。但文化混杂并未带来文化包容,反而造就了不同族裔、阶级、性别间的剥削,移民社会带来的反而是认同的缺失。电影以家庭为叙事空间,并通过女性个体经历,展现现代化新加坡社会的复杂权力关系。电影中,传统的华人文化与华文教育,在新加坡遭遇危机与挑战;多元文化组成的移民社会存在多重阶级剥削,新移民难以找到身份认同;多元文化混杂的新加坡,始终是全球化后殖民时代下权力关系的载体,更隐藏着集体化的认同缺失与失根焦虑。
Anthony Chen is currently the most representative young director in Singapore.His movie productions facilitate the Singapore filmmaking to the forefront of the world stage.Anthony Chen’s productions continue the family theme and cultural identity issues of Singapore Chinese films.The city of Singapore,presented inIlo Ilo(2013)andWet Season(2019),is a Cultural Hybridity under the combined effects of globalization,modernization and post-colonialism.Cultural Hybridity creates exploitation of ethnicity,class,and gender instead of cultural tolerance.Immigrant Community brings unstable identity.These movies take the family as the narrative space and showing the complex power relationships of modern Singapore society through a female individual’s experiences.In the movie,traditional Chinese culture and Chinese education encounter crises and challenges in Singapore.The multicultural immigrant society has multiple class exploitation,new immigrants have difficulty finding identity.Multicultural Singapore has always been the carrier of power relations in the post-colonial era of globalization.It also hides the collective unstable identity and rootless anxiety.
