From the mid-1970s to the early 21st century,the study of Birmingham School’s female culture rose and declined,which is not only the result of theoretical choice,but also the inevitable development of the times.Birmingham School’s study on female culture has gone through the theoretical development process of exploring the causes of proletarian women’s subordination,turning to the differential politics of the coexistence of women with different identities,and seeking the resistance strategy of women’s denial of mainstream consciousness.Finally,it was forced to terminate under the influence of various factors.It is of great theoretical significance and practical value to trace the historical context of Birmingham School’s female culture study and to sort out its ideological tradition and logical evolution process.
