Phthalates as widely-used plasticizers in medical PVC devices can significantly improve the plasticity of products.However,with the wide use of such materials,their disadvantages are gradually exposed.This study found that phthalate plasticizers can cause neurotoxicity,reproductive toxicity,and developmental toxicity to humans through dissolution or migration,resulting in abnormalities of nervous system function and reproductive ability.Based on analyzing the toxicity mechanism,researchers are also constantly looking for safer alternatives to ensure the reliability of medical devices.
