南洋劝业会是清末新政时期由端方等开明士绅在南京创办的一次全国博览会,体现了端方等人"导民兴业"的现代化图景,既是一个现代文明教育场所,也是一个工商业展销平台,并促进了南京的现代化发展。本文廓清了劝业会的背景、缘起与创办过程,进一步探讨其如何通过博物苑化、游园化、市场化和现代化空间来实现意义的传达。

Nanyang Exposition is a national exposition initiated by DUAN Fang and other enlightened gentries during the Late Qing Reform period.It presents the modern imagination of"enlightening people and encouraging industry and business"of DUAN Fang and other people,not only a place for education of modern civilisation,but also a stage for exhibition and sale of modern achievements and promoting the modernisation of Nanjing.This paper clarifies the background,origin and founding process of Nanyang Exposition,and further discusses how to convey the meaning through museum-oriented,garden-oriented,market-oriented and modernised spaces.
