From the City to the Construction:A New Dimension in the Architecture of the City

本文立足于当代中国城市与建筑发展进程,从城市的适应性迭代、建筑作为微型城市的类型学解读、文化形式的转译与重塑3个层面剖析了王建国院士在其作品中呈现的都市性及其重要意义。文章指出,对公共性与文脉的双重考量是贯穿王院士研究及设计的关键性策略,城市视角下的建筑分析与设计方法则将帮助当代中国建构一种新的城市建筑学向度。

Based on the process of urban and architectural development in contemporary China,this paper dissects the significant characteristics of urbanism presented by Academician ANG Jianguo’s works.The three aspects of analysis include adaptive urban iteration,the typological reading of architecture as a miniature city,and the translation and reshaping of cultural forms.The paper points out that the dual consideration of publicness and cultural context is a key strategy that runs through WANG’s research and design.An architectural analysis and design approach from an urban perspective will help to construct a new dimension of architecture in contemporary China.
