Wooden super high-rise building concept to create a forest city and restore green life The W350 plan is more than just a blueprint for the development of future technologies. For Japan, which has about 30%planted forest cover,it presents a solution to the collapsing forest cycle, due to the decline in demand for wood, the abandonment of mountain forests, and the decline of domestic forestry as a result of modernization. The plan was initiated to investigate whether the construction of a 350m super high-rise building with a wooden structure could be an effective way to revitalize the forest cycle(the cycle of planting, harvesting, and returning to the soil for reforestation),the mountain forests, and urban environments in Japan.Every step of the planning process, including technical verifications and discussions, highlights the modern significance of wood and mountain forests,as well as the social impact of building skyscrapers out of wood.
