前文报道[1,2]中药生地、知母、甘草应用于长期服用激素的病人,可减轻部分病人由激素引起的副反应,并对血浆皮质醇的抑制也有一定的保护作用.

Our previous work demonstrated that Chinese traditional drugs Sheng Di,Zhi Mu and Kan Ghao can neutralize the effect of dexamethasone in rabbits.The object of this study is to examine in vitro the influence of cortisol catabolism by these 3 drugs.When they were incubated together with cortisol and liver slice,our laboratory data cleary showed that the oatabolio rate of oortisol was definitely inhibited,or in other words,these 3 drugs protected the degradation of C11-OH group,C4:5 double bond,C3-keto group,C17,21dihydroxy and C20-keto group of oortisol from liver enzymes.Changes of fluorescence intensity produced by 11-OH group of cortisol in the presence of strong sulf urio acid,the optical density at 240 nm and the colors produced by zimmermann reaction and Porter-Silber reaction were used as the index of the catabolio rate of cortisol.Controls with another 6 kinds of Chinese traditional drugs beside these 3,however did not exhibit such kind of action.These results could be used to explain the mechanism of neutralizing the effect of dexamethasone by Sheng Di,Zhi Mu and Kan Chao,but on the other hand,this explanation would be still far from complete.
