Home Situation,Personal Attitude and Action:The Rural Life of the Bureaucrat Fang Hongjing in the Late Ming Dynasty

身为晚明徽州官僚群体的一员,方弘静因其较长的乡居生涯而较为特殊。在这段时间中,方弘静搜集了大量当时徽州的社会信息,并将之放入其人文集与杂俎当中。基于这些乡情,受方弘静乡居生活态度的作用,他做出了一系列的相应举动以应对晚明地方社会的变化。但从后续社会发展来看,方弘静的举措并未实现其所期待的效果。

As a member of Huizhou bureaucratic group in late Ming dynasty,Fang Hongjing was special because of his long life in the countryside.During this period,Fang Hongjing collected a lot of social information about Huizhou at that time and put it into his anthology.Based on local conditions and his attitude towards life at the countryside,Fang Hongjing made a series of corresponding actions to cope with the changes in the local society at the time.However,from the perspective of the subsequent social development,Fang Hongjing’s measures did not live up to his expectation.
