Three Kingdoms and before of the Research on the Migration of Jiaoyao People

在《山海经》中,关于小人国的记载,见于多处。对于《大荒东经》所载的“靖人”,法国学者认为:“此外中国史册不载此东北极之小人国。此种传说,似应置诸神话之列矣。但据寻究之结果,实有一种小人,于太古时代分布于日本列岛、北海岛、千岛、堪察加等处。”

Jiaoyao people belong to Yao's tribe.Their initial residence was in Shanxian County in Henan Province.Yao built capital in Pingyang.When he was the tribal leader,Jiaoyao people once paid tribute to him.Monarch Shun was buried in Jiuyi(now in the south of Ningyuan County,Hunan Province)when he was on a southern tour of inspection.Jiuyi became the living center of Shun's tribe,and Jiaoyao people came to Jiuyi with Monarch Shun during inspection tour.In the eyes of Confucius,Jiaoyao represented short people.During Spring and Autumn Period,Jiaoyao people had migrated to Vietnam and Myanmar.During Emperor Ming and Emperor An in the Easterm Han Dynasty,Jiaoyao people from the southwest part might come to Luoyang in order to pay tibute or become subject.From Eastern Han Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms Period,Daqin(Roman Empire)merchants might shipped the Jiaoyao people to the south of Roman Empire(interior Africa)through Maritime Silk Road and then built a country of short people(small people).
