A spiritual boom is occurring among young people in today’s Japan. One theme of the boom is Japanese mythology. At first sight,it looks like desecularizing. It in actuality is a very political movement. To the extent that those young people unconsciously believe themselves to be de-politicalized,their movement is fundamentally political. This can be called"Politicality of de-politicization."My paper looks at modern expositions of the Izumo mythology based on the mythologies of Kojiki and Nihon shoki.I will particularly focus on analyzing the context in which the land-surrender myth is put to modern use to demonstrate that this is a logic of modern integration appropriate for the modern nation-state model. In my paper,so called"spiritual boom"is the focus point in order to analyze the cultural movement, especially of Japanese mythology for young generation,in modern Japanese society.Young Japanese think their trend is non-political consciously, whereas it is obviously political unconsciously. It should be called"politics of de-politicization".Through the analysis of Izumo mythology seen in Kojiki and Nihonshoki,The way of formation of nation-state in recent period of post-war Japan is explored in terms of the concession of local region for Yamato court.
