Grounding physicalism is physicalism formulated by grounding.I argue in this article that grounding physicalism will encounter a special dilemma because of the features of grounding.The dilemma is as follows:if grounding physicalism is a priori,then it will be challenged by the explanatory gap;if grounding physicalism is a posteriori,then it will be challenged by naturalistic dualism.There is a cost to formulate physicalism by grounding.This shows that grounding physicalism is not naturally better than other formulations of physicalism.
