摘要
约翰·韦恩的诗歌体现了商品拜物教对英国城市人的冲击。城市人遭受异化,冷漠而沉沦,劳工遭受伦理身份的贬值和丢失。城市人经受着惊颤,光韵逝去,艺术变得“惰性、机械、禁欲”,而其展示价值被突出。这是一个抹除死亡的单向度时代,城市人夹杂在生存之艰和沉湎于大众文化的伦理困境中。对此,韦恩在诗中留下了深厚的伦理诉求:首先,大众应启迪理性意志,保持良知,以兼爱和积极的存在主义观接纳苦难和现代生活的不确定性;其次,知识分子应重拾崇高,重视个体精神和艺术的崇拜价值,使灵韵返魅;最后,城市人应重返自然,重视乡土记忆,拾回孩童的原始直觉和超验思想,接受自然的启迪和救赎作用,打破商品拜物教的现代迷宫神话,本真地向死而生。
John Wain’s poems displayed the impact of commodity fetishism on British citizens.Citizens were alienated as they became cold and degenerated.Workers’ethical identity were devalued or lost.Citizens suffered the“shock”,and aura was lost.Art works turned“inert,mechanical,ascetic”,with its exhibition value overvalued.It is a one-dimensional time when death was removed.Citizens were caught up in the ethical predicament of survival difficulties and immersion in popular culture.Therefore,Wain left profound ethical appeals in his poems:Masses should cultivate rational will,stick to conscience,and face the sufferings and uncertainties in modern life with universal love and a positively existentialistic mindset.Then,intellectuals should rediscover sublimity,and emphasize their individual psyche and worship value of art works to regain enchantment of aura.Lastly,citizens should return to nature and stress their hometown memories,through which they can regain the original intuition and transcendental thoughts of children,and accept enlightenment and redemption from nature,so as to break the labyrinth myth of modernity brought by commodity fetishism.Then they can authentically dwell towards death.
