Annie Ernaux,a French woman writer,has worked hard for more than 20 years to write The Years,which won the Prix Marguerite Duras after its publication in 2008.The work shows the collective memory of a generation,presenting all the events,songs,objects,slogans of society,collective fears and hopes in the way of no one’s autobiography.After the author herself made an unimaginable class leap,her insight and observation of human nature became more thorough.She also gained a deeper understanding and concern for the situation of the bottom group.From the perspective of focus and divergence,this paper pays attention to the subtle descriptions of people,things,and objects in the works.It also shows why these works can bring about spiritual and memory resonance in people.The aim is to realize the value of these works in their respective times,which in turn prompts a rethinking of human sorrow and joy.
