金凯筠翻译中的交互视角化——基于语料库的译者认知风格研究

Karen Kingsbury’s Inter-Subject Perspectivisation in Translation:A Corpus-Based Study of Translator’s Cognitive Style

本文以美国汉学家金凯筠(Karen Kingsbury)的翻译作品为例,尝试性地探讨确认译者认知风格的可行路径。金凯筠是张爱玲小说的代表性译者。本研究以金凯筠翻译语料库作为目标语料库,以其他译者的张爱玲小说翻译语料库作为参照,基于平行语料库进行深入分析,确认了金凯筠在翻译中表现的独特认知风格特征——交互视角化。研究结果表明,基于语料库的对比分析模式有助于揭示译者独特的风格特征,而认知翻译学视域则可以提升风格研究的概括层级。未来研究仍需要在语言标记和多范畴或多维度的认知风格特征之间做更多的搭桥工作,并需要在基于语料库方法确认译者独特认知风格的程序上做更多的探索。

This paper,taking Karen Kingsbury,an American sinologist-translator as an example,tries to explore the feasible path to identifying translator’s cognitive style.Karen Kingsbury is a prominent translator of Eileen Chang’s fiction.With the translational corpus of Eileen Chang’s fiction rendered by other translators as reference,the study identifies in the target corpus,i.e.the translational corpus of Eileen Chang’s fiction by Kingsbury,the cognitive style of translation,inter-subject perspectivisation,through an in-depth parallel corpus analysis.The results suggest that the corpus-based contrastive analysis can be conducive to revealing the unique features of the translator’s style,while the cognitive-translatological approach can raise the level of generalization.In future,more work needs to be done to bridge the gap between linguistic markers and multi-category or multidimensional cognitive style,and corpus-based discovery procedures need to be explored further.
