肯尼斯·雷克思罗斯是20世纪美国著名诗人、批评家、翻译家。雷氏的汉诗英译实践成就斐然,其译作对其他美国诗人与译者影响巨大,其译诗的文学文化价值也一再为中外学者所称赞。本文通过细读雷氏的汉诗英译文,从选词造句、情景改创、节奏探索、中国式法则与西方式再书写五大方面探讨了雷氏译诗的诗艺特色,并结合雷氏的翻译观阐述了其汉诗英译的翻译诗学价值与跨文化交流意义。

Kenneth Rexroth was a leading American poet,critic and translator in the 20 th century.His Chinese-English poetry translation,highly praised for their literary and cultural values,has exerted a tremendous influence on later American poets and translators.Based on the close reading of his English translations of ancient Chinese poems as well as his translation viewpoints,the present paper highlights his poetic techniques for Chinese-English poetry translation from perspectives of choosing words and making sentences,reorganizing the scenic details,exploring forms of rhythm as well as practicing a kind of Chinese rule and western-style rewriting.It aims to unveil the significance and implications of his Chinese-English poetry translation for the poetics of translation and intercultural communication.
