定向动机流实证研究回顾与展望(2012—2022)

A Review and Prospect of Empirical Research on Directed Motivational Currents(2012-2022)

自定向动机流(Directed Motivational Currents,简称DMCs)这一概念提出以来,国内外理论和实证研究不断增加。通过对国内外定向动机流实证研究的系统综述,本研究试图探讨定向动机流研究在话题、被试和研究方法等方面的特征。研究发现,动机流实证研究话题大致可分为三类:动机流验证性研究、动机流动态多维特征研究、动机流影响因素及相关变量研究,但国内外研究关注的重点不同。此外,大部分研究被试以大学生为主,关注被试的二语学习动机。质性个案研究在定向动机流实证研究中最为常见,但国内外已有学者尝试采用定量或混合研究方法。最后,本文指出了现有定向动机流实证研究中存在的不足,希望能为未来研究及二语教学提供借鉴和参考。

Since the concept of Directed Motivational Currents(DMCs)was proposed,relevant theoretical and empirical studies have been increasing home and abroad.Based on a systematic review of empirical studies on DMCs,this study explored the features of DMCs research in terms of research topics,participants and research designs.The findings show that relevant empirical studies can be roughly classified into three categories:validation studies on the theory of DMCs,the dynamic multidimensional features of DMCs and factors influencing variations of DMCs.However,the research focuses home and abroad are different.Participants for most DMCs studies are university students and their L2 motivations are frequently examined.Though qualitative case studies are still the dominant method adopted in DMCs empirical research,some scholars have attempted to adopt quantitative or mixed methods in their research.The weaknesses of the existing empirical research on DMCs are discussed hoping to provide implications for future research and L2 instruction.
