海德格尔认为,技术乃是解蔽之方式,因此对真理有揭示功能。乔伊斯运用了“顿悟”的手法作为艺术之技术,从三个方面对19世纪的都柏林进行了真理的揭示。首先,技术在大地与世界的争执中揭露真理,顿悟敞开了小说人物的世界,显露充满社会问题的都柏林大地;其次,技术是真理的保存方法,顿悟将读者拉入历史,为爱尔兰寻找艺术的历史保存者;最后,顿悟尝试在视域中开拓历史,在新世纪变化中寻找当代人的立身之所,是顿悟技术将《都柏林人》塑造为具有跨时代意义的历史作品。
Heidegger deems that technique is the method of unconcealment,thus it has the function of revealing truth.Joyce uses epiphany skill as a technique of art,and reveals the truth of Dublin in nineteenth century from three aspects.Firstly,technique reveals the truth through the dispute of the earth and the world.Epiphany opens the world of the characters in the novel,manifests the Dublin earth which is filled with social problems.Secondly,technique is the method to preserve truth.Epiphany draws the readers into history,and searches for the historical preserver for the art of Ireland.Finally,epiphany tries to open up history in horizons,finding a shelter for modern people in the unstable new era.It is the epiphany technique that makes Dubliners an historical work of cross-epoch significance.
