With continuous development of the world economy,information technology(IT)plays a more and more important role in our everyday life.Today,with rapid advancement of science and technology,science and technology activity is no longer limited to traditional mechanization.The intelligence,as a typical representative,has been widely used in various fields of life to improve product quality,enhance efficiency,and develop new technologies.In order to break through the application limitations of modern intelligence,artificial intelligence(AI)chip emerged as the frontier semiconductor chip and high-technology production,with embedding AI algorithm.In this paper,the meaning,classification,development process,industrial status and prospects of artificial intelligence chips are summarized.It is hopeful to help the engineers and any interested people to extend their scope and get more knowing on the AI chip field.
