国际文化交流平台与中国文化产品出口——基于全球1356所孔子学院的数据

International Cultural Exchange Platforms and the Export of Chinese Cultural Products:Based on Data from 1356 Confucius Institutes

作为国际文化交流平台的典型代表,孔子学院在推广汉语的同时,也为外国人了解中国文化提供平台。为了探究国际文化交流平台是否能促进中国文化产品出口,本文以1996—2017年中国对43个国家(地区)文化产品出口的面板数据为样本,重点考察了孔子学院对中国文化产品出口的影响。研究结果表明,孔子学院能够显著促进中国文化产品出口,但其促进效果受文化距离的影响,并且存在时间与空间上的异质性。本文认为,重视国际文化交流平台的贸易促进效果、科学地布局并优化其在不同文化背景下的运作模式,可以更好地推动文化交流,创造更加有利的贸易环境,从而促进中国文化产品出口贸易的发展。

As a typical representative international cultural exchange platform,the Confucius Institute is spreading appreciation for Chinese language and also provides a platform for foreigners to understand Chinese culture.In order to explore whether the Confucius Institutes can promote the export of Chinese cultural products or not,this paper focuses on the relationship between the Confucius Institutes and the export of Chinese cultural products based on the Confucius Institutes’panel data from 1996 to 2017 in 43 countries.(The result shows that by substituting the negative effect of the culture distance,Confucius Institutes can significantly promote the export of Chinese cultural products,but the promotional effects show the heterogeneity of time and space.)The paper suggests that the enterprises should pay more attention to the promotional effects of the international cultural exchange platform.The relevant departments should arrange the distribution of Confucius Institutes across the world scientifically and improve their operation modes under different culture backgrounds,which would promote the culture communication and create better trade environment,and would promote the export of Chinese cultural products.
