“一带一路”沿线国家来华留学教育发展动因探究——基于中外经济、政治和文化的互动视角

Development Motives on the Overseas Education of Countries along "The Belt and Road" in China:Based on the Interactive Perspectives of Chinese and Foreign Economy,Politics and Culture

发展"一带一路"沿线国家来华留学教育,是践行中外"民心相通"精神和实现中国教育对外开放、提高国家文化软实力的重要途径。本文基于2004—2016年"一带一路"沿线63个国家的面板数据资料,运用贸易引力模型,从中外贸易投资、国事访问和孔子学院三个视角系统探究中外经贸往来、政治互动和文化交流对沿线国家来华留学教育的实际影响。研究发现,整体上中外经贸往来、政治互动与文化交流均能显著促进"一带一路"沿线国家来华留学教育的发展,且这三个因素间具有两两显著的替代关系。

The development of overseas students’education of countries along"The Belt and Road"in China is an important way to practice the spirit of"people-to-people bond"between China and foreign countries,to realize the opening-up of China’s education and to improve the country’s cultural soft power.Based on the panel data of 63 countries along"The Belt and Road"from 2004 to 2016,the article uses the gravity model of trade to systematically explore the actual impact of Sino-foreign economic and trade exchanges,political interactions and cultural exchanges on the overseas students’education of countries along"The Belt and Road"from the perspectives of Sino-foreign trade and investment,state visits and Confucius institutes.The article argues that Sino-foreign economic and trade exchanges,political interaction and cultural exchanges can significantly promote the development of overseas students’education of countries along"The Belt and Road",and there are significant substitution relations between any two among the three factors.Among them,the economic and trade exchanges have the most significant effect on the promotion of overseas students’education in China,and compared with the direct investment,the trade exchanges play the more significant role in promoting the economic and trade motivations of overseas students’education in China.At the same time,the substitution of economic and cultural exchanges is more significant and steady.
