Dancing in Common A Summary of the 2019 DSA Annual Conference

2019年8月8—11日,"舞蹈研究协会"2019年国际学术会议在美国伊利诺伊州埃文斯顿顺利举行。此次会议的主题"共舞"既是对近些年美国舞蹈学术趋势的反转,也是一种新的继承。会议上,舞蹈与大众文化、非裔美国舞蹈文化、舞蹈与国家主义以及结合性别、民族和政治的跨学科研究等议题皆反映了当下美国舞蹈学术界的热点话题。中国舞蹈学者们在此次会议上的精彩发言,亦向世界展示了中国舞蹈文化的博大精深以及当代中国舞蹈理论研究的成果和面貌。本文主要从学术动向、热点话题、重点奖项和中国舞蹈的世界声音四个方面来介绍此次会议的概况和成果。

The 2019 International Conference of DSA was held in Evanston, Illinois, from August 8 to 11, 2019. The theme of the conference, Dancing in Common, is both a reversal of the recent dance trends in the United States, and an innovative approach toward realizing continuity. At the conference, the participants focused on interdisciplinary research on dance and gender, ethnicity and politics, the relationship between dance and popular culture and dance and nationality, and research on African American dance culture, which are hot topics of the American dance academia. Chinese dance scholars also gave speeches at the conference, which revealed the profoundness of Chinese dance culture and the level of dance studies in China. This paper presents the highlights of the conference from four aspects: academic trends, hot topics, major awards, and the perspectives of the world on Chinese dance.
