Contra: Dance and Conflict A Review of the First International Conference of DSA(Ⅱ)

作为由舞蹈领域的学者、教育家和艺术家组成的国际组织,"舞蹈研究协会"(DSA)是一个规模庞大、具有世界号召力且组织严密的舞蹈学术界的交流平台。2018年7月5—8日,"舞蹈研究协会"在马耳他大学举行了首届国际会议,会议主题为"反:舞蹈与冲突(Contra:Dance and Conf lict)"。数百位来自世界各地的舞蹈领域学者集聚一堂,对舞蹈内部和外部冲突的普遍性与必要性进行了讨论。会议提出的问题是:虽然舞蹈通常被用作和平的隐喻,但是舞蹈及其学术研究却往往是一种冲突。然而,舞蹈作为一种互动、摩擦和潜在能量的场所,其冲突既有破坏性,同样具有创造性。那么,舞蹈如何成为和解的载体?舞蹈研究中的冲突是什么?舞蹈编排又是如何表现、暴露或挑战暴力和战争的?是否可以通过舞蹈实践找到一种可以有效地调和或利用这些冲突的方法?本文以系列报道的形式,按照会议组织的不同专题,综述了来自世界各地的代表们发表的论文和发言的要点,透视了当今舞蹈学界研究的视野:学者们对于舞蹈在人类的政治、经济、军事、文化、教育以及生活中所发生冲突的关注,以及他们对冲突的根源、冲突的协调、冲突化解的途径以及对冲突的创造性因素的合理利用的观点。此篇为国际会议次日发表的研究成果综述。

As an international organization of dance scholars,educators and artists,the Dance Studies Association(DSA)is a platform for global events of the dance community.From July 5 to 8,2018,DSA held its f irst international conference at the University of Malta entitled“Contra:Dance and Conf lict.”Hundreds of scholars from all over the world discussed the universality and necessity of internal and external conf licts in dance.The key issue raised at the conference was:although dance is often used as a metaphor for peace,dance and dance study often involve conf lict.However,as a medium of interaction,friction and potential energy,dance is both destructive and creative.So how has dance become the tool of reconciliation?What conf licts are involved in dance study?How does dance choreography reveal or challenge violence and war?Is it possible to reconcile or use conf licts through dance?This paper sums up some of the key ideas of the papers and speeches delivered by the participants by topic,and presents the vision and concerns of dance scholars around the world,especially the attention paid to conf licts in politics,economy,military,culture,education,and daily life,as well as their views on the root causes of conf licts,the ways in which conf licts can be resolved,and the rational use of creative factors in conf licts.This paper is a summary of some of the presentations delivered at the DSA Conference.
