What is the origin of philosophy?This is a rather complicated question.For example,when we consider the origin of Japanese philosophy,we must not only consider traditional Japanese philosophy or ideas,but also the development of Chinese philosophy in Japan.When tracing the origin of modern Japanese philosophy,it is also necessary to consider the entire context of East Asian philosophy and the impact of institutionalized philosophical education.The Tokyo University is the first modern university established in Japan.As the highest institution of higher learning in Japan,it has a profound influence on the development of East Asian philosophy.Tetsujiro Inoue(1856-1944)attended the Tokyo University,where he later taught.He once compiled"Philosophical Vocabulary",which on the surface has no philosophical content at all.However,Philosophical Vocabulary reflects some of Inoue's important understandings of philosophical concepts.This article will extract some items from Philosophical Vocabulary and analyze their philosophical implications.
