超越“一国文化史”书写模式的他者殷鉴——评《日本近世与近代文化史论》

作为"百年南开日本研究文库"的文化史专著,赵德宇教授所著《日本近世与近代文化史论》继承了南开日本研究立足扎实史料,注重观点创新和理论突破,强调日本经验为中国所借鉴。作者还从大航海时代以来西方对世界带来冲击及东方回应的角度,把握住日本文化从近世走向近代过程中的明暗得失。该著没有将重点仅停留在对近世与近代日本精英思想和学术流派梳理,也并不满足于白描形形色色的文化情趣,而是以维新与复古、进步和倒退为线索,通过文明与文化的两个维度,站在全球文化传播与交流的角度总结和分析"近世—近代"文化链条连续与断裂背后的深层次原因。这种超越"一国民族文化史"的尝试,也打破了以往日本文化研究的常规和局限,其以他者为镜,而做出文化须走向多元并存、海纳百川的梳理与总结,也可作为我国文化发展的殷鉴。

As a monograph on the cultural history of the "Hundred Years Anniversary of Nankai Japanese Research Library",Professor Zhao Deyu’s "On Modern and Contemporary Cultural History of Japan" inherits solid historical materials from Nankai’s Japanese studies,focuses on viewpoint innovation and theoretical breakthroughs,and emphasizes that the Japanese experience can be used for reference by China.The author is also concerned about the impact of the West on the world and the response of the East since the Great Geographical Discovery and grasped the gains and losses of Japanese culture from early modern to modern times.The focus of this work is not just to sort out the thoughts and academic genres of early modern and modern Japanese elites,nor to be content with the various cultural tastes of description,but to take the clues of restoration and retro,progress and retrogress as the clues between civilization and culture.This book summarizes and analyzes the deep—seated reasons behind the continuity and break of the "early modern—modern" cultural chain from the perspective of global cultural communication and exchange.This attempt to transcend the "history of a nation’s national culture" has also broken the conventions and limitations of previous Japanese cultural studies.It uses the other as a mirror and makes summaries that cope with diversity and coexistence.This book could provide a reference for the development of Chinese culture.
