Why Do We Need to Build Chinese Urban Science Discipline?

在世界城市化的整体背景下,以中国城市发展的重大问题与关键矛盾为对象,凝聚和集成各民族、各地区、各阶段的知识、方法、思想、理论和智慧,探讨和建立一门具有自主知识产权的新型交叉学科——中国城市科学具有重大的理论与实践意义。以"美"和"自由"为灵魂的城市人文科学是核心结构,以"善"和"秩序"为主要内涵的城市社会科学是中层结构,而以"真"和"物质"为主体的城市自然科学则是表层结构。研究城市,就是研究人类最基本和最主要的问题,建设中国城市科学,最核心的目的是提供具有中国特色、符合国家利益、因应人民需要的系统解决方案。

Under the overall background of worldwide urbanization,it has great theoretical and practical significance to explore and establish a new interdiscipline——China’s urban science with independent intellectual property rights,holding fundamental problems and crucial contradictions during urbanization development in China as the major object,consolidating and integrating theories,knowledge,methods,ideas,and wisdoms from all nations,regions in every period.The urban humanities with"the beautiful"and"freedom"as the soul is the core structure of this discipline,the urban social science with"the good"and"order"as the main connotation is its middle structure,and the urban natural science with"the true"and"material"as the main body is its surface structure.The study on city,is the study on the most basic and the uppermost problem of human.The core objective of building China’s urban science,is to provide systemic solutions according to the national interest and people’s need with Chinese characteristics.
