艾斯纳指出,当学校一味强调并重视所谓的知性领域,而排斥艺术时,它就难以培养学生发展一种社会秩序的能力,去回应具有品质的精致生活。艾斯纳颠覆了艺术是装饰性活动的普遍观点,批判了将艺术边缘化的传统教育观点,探索了艺术教育的认知功能与愿景,阐述了艺术教育的教与学,分析了艺术课程的设计、艺术评估的功能与研究工作的作用,揭示了艺术对教育的启示以及艺术教育的社会贡献,比较全面地展现了艺术教育对心灵创造力的影响,彰显了艺术教育的重大意义与价值。艾斯纳强调艺术教我们如何保持活力,发展出人类关怀所需的感应力,它可以影响人们选择过什么样的生活。其美育思想对教育实践的再设计和教育所生存的环境将产生深远的影响,对于艺术教育的发展具有积极的促进作用。
Eisner pointed out that when the school blindly emphasizes and values the socalled intellectual realm and rejects art,it is difficult to cultivate students’ability to develop a kind of social order and respond to the exquisite life of quality.Eisner rejected the general view that art is a decorative activity and criticized the traditional educational view that marginalizes art.He explored the cognitive function and vision of art education,elaborated the teaching and learning of art education,analyzed the design of art curriculum,the function of art evaluation and the role of research work,revealed the inspiration of art to education and the social contribution of art education,comprehensively demonstrated the influence of art education to spiritual creativity,and demonstrated the great significance and value of art education.Eisner emphasized that art teaches us how to stay alive and develop the sensitivity needed for human care,which can influence what kind of life people choose to live.His thoughts on aesthetic education will have a profound impact on the redesign of educational practice and the environment in which education lives,and will have a positive role in promoting the development of art education.
