As one of the core domain of empiricism aesthetics,studies of taste had built up a platform of modern theory,which made the eighteenth century British literary criticism form a vibrant speculative space in the interaction with philosophy,politics,ethics,science and other fields.Hume’s own discussion on this issue not only shows the unique ideological resources,value standpoint and discourse strategy of empiricism aesthetics,but also gives us clues why it could show its vitality in the so-called"post-metaphysical"context.
