我们所生存的世界究竟是什么样子?长久以来,人类对世界形貌的探索从未停止,科学、艺术、文学都在各自推测和描绘着世界的样貌。一部文学作品可能激发成百上千的探险家踏上征程;一幅地图可能催生更全面更广泛的世界地图。对世界形貌的想象哪怕是错误的,都有可能促进地理知识的产生。人们对世界形貌的推想往往从自身文化出发,而忽略了他者文化中包含的知识,因此每个单一模型的全面性都是值得质疑和警惕的。在全球化背景下,对世界形貌的表达需要采取多聚焦的文化视角,避免陷入范式化的单一模型中。

What does our world look like?People try constantly to study the image of the world,the imago mundi.Science,art,literature,each describes the imago mundi in its proper language.One literary work could inspire thousands of travelers to explore the world;one map could inspire others to complete more world maps.Imagination of the imago mundi,even a wrong one,may give birth to new geographical knowledges.However,people usually imagine the world based on their own culture without considering knowledges of Others.Therefore,each single model is doubtful for lacking a macroscopic vision.As the globalization process goes on,multi-focus cultural perspectives are necessary to avoid the single paradigm.
